User Experience vs. User Interface

It is quite common for people, even inside software development teams to use the acronyms UX and UI as synonyms, but they are quite different. UX stands for “User Experience” while UI stands for “User Interface.” UI is what people use to interact with a product, while UX is how they feel while they do.

I came across a photo, created by designer Ed Lea, that helps to visualize the difference between the two and how they relate to product design. It’s a very clever way of explaining it in very simple terms, using something we all know —cereal!

I’ll be using this next time the question of UX vs UI comes up :-)
